My Love for Kimonos
Fashion is a form of expression and if you look in my closet you will find a garden placed neatly on hangers. What can I say other than I’m a sucker for anything floral.
Over the years my style has changed. My size in clothes has also changed. One thing that hasn’t drastically changed is the type of clothes I look for: comfortable, chic, and effortless.
My current obsession at the moment are kimonos. If my outfit for the day looks too simple or is missing a pop of color, I’ll put on a kimono and instantly my outfit looks polished.
Most boutiques and retail stores sell kimonos and normally are inexpensive depending where you shop. From simple to bold vibrant patterns, you can find an array of kimonos to style your outfit.
I own quite a few kimonos, but my favorite one is this rose-printed kimono I bought on clearance at Marshalls. The material is velvet soft and the rose print gives this kimono a romantic feel to my outfit.
My second favorite kimono is this silky, dusty green kimono I found at Charming Charlie. If you want something light and airy, be on the hunt for silk kimonos. I love the pop of gold flowers and black fringe on the bottom of this kimono that can easily transform my everyday outfit to an ethereal goddess heading to Starbucks.
So if you are looking for a statement piece to your add to your wardrobe or want something that can transform your outfit and provide coverage, then invest in a kimono or two …maybe three.
